Tekken 7 patch update 2.01 now available – Fixes bugs and tunes some Season 2 balance changes

A few more nerfs and buffs!

As promised shortly after the release of Tekken 7 Season 2, a patch update that would fix bugs and address some unintended balance changes would be released. Tekken 7 patch update 2.01 has begun rolling out for PlayStation 4 and STEAM, with Xbox One reported to release any moment. When Season 2 launched out it was discovered that Lars’ f2,1 was a 12 frame punish that could lead to a combo. As well, Katarina’s fF2,4 was a 13 frame move that could punish that jailed and also led to a combo. These were probably the most alarming issues within the Tekken community, garnering lots of discussion on social media and brought to the attention of the Tekken project team.

Below are all of the 2.01 changes:

  • Bryan 1+3+4 — Homing reverted to version 1.14 state.
  • Lars f2,1 — Timing of transition to Silent Entry wasn’t as intended. Now fixed.
  • Katarina fF2,4 — Move comes out 2F slower, and now able to crouch after block.
  • Shaheen fb2 — More damage dealt than intended when hitting certain opponents. Now fixed.
  • Master Raven u/f3+4 — Input window was different on hit only. Now fixed.
  • Eliza fF+4,2,qcf,qcf1+2 — Can now block 3rd hit when 2nd hit was blocked.
  • Anna b3 — Unintended reaction when receiving a low attack at a certain timing. Now fixed.
  • Fixed a bug in which “Season Pass 2” banner link displayed in main menu is not linked to PlayStation Store for the PlayStation 4 version.
  • Updated Banner Link Display in Main Menu Screen (PS4)
  • Fixed a bug in which “Season Pass 2” banner link displayed in main menu screen is not linked to PlayStation Store.
  • Corrected Battle Results Display (STEAM)
  • Corrected battle results in PLAYER INFORMATION as they were incorrect for some players.

Harada called this the “quick update,” so perhaps we could see some more tuning later. These were obviously glaring issues that needed immediate fixing.

Many have been reporting that the Summer Lesson customization items that come with Tekken 7 Season Pass 2 are not available to them. Harada addressed that as well.
