Tekken 7 graphics, performance, and frame rate comparison on PC, PS4 and XB1

Which platform does Tekken 7 run and look best on?

Aside from a better overall online gaming experience, another reason you may want to play Tekken 7 on PC is due to how much better it looks from a visual standpoint. Not all PC’s are created equal, but for those with enough power to perform at high settings, they can produce better graphics over their console counter parts.

Take a look at this video by Candyland that compares the frame rate, graphics and performance of the PC, PlayStation 4 and XBox One.

We compare the graphics and performance of Tekken 7 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. We also test the frame-rate of the consoles. On both consoles, Tekken 7 runs with solid 60 fps. The resolution is 720p native on Xbox One, 1536*864 which is a bit below 900p. Besides resolution, there are also some visual differences between all platforms. That includes ambient occlusion and texture filtering.

The specs of the PC are:

  • Intel Core i7 6700K 4.00 GHz
  • 16 GB DDR4 RAM
  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080
  • MSI Z170A PC Mate Mainboard
  • Windows 10 Pro 64bit
Which Platform Wins?

The PlayStation 4 looks just as great as PC for the most part, with minor differences here and there. The XBox One looks okay, but not nearly as good as PS4. It even has some elements  scaled back (blur, shadows, etc) or missing altogether. That’s not unusual for games though. But still, it’s an XBox One and you’d expect it to be on par with the PS4. Guess not.

Performance wise, PS4 and XB1 both perform at 60FPS, so that’s a huge plus.

From a visual standpoint, the clear winner here is PC, but not by a huge margin. Performance is better too, as PC’s can be customized and out perform any console pretty much. This isn’t in the video, but another major difference is the online experience. It has been well documented and reported that Tekken 7 on PC it just far superior to the consoles.

Overall Winner: PC

PC: Min vs Max Settings

How does the PC look when you compare the graphics and performance of Tekken 7 with minimum and maximum graphics settings? In this video they play in 4K UHD. In both presets they deactivated dynamic adjustment, which scales graphics down if performance drops. They also did not use any resolution scaling. For max settings they activated motion blur.
