This weekend REV Major 2017, a Tekken World Tour master event in the Philippines, showcased the best Tekken 7 matches that have ever been on display to date. Honestly, it was all thanks to Knee and Echo Fox’s JDCR, two Tekken titans from Korea. Their performances in Winner’s Finals and Grand Finals are unparalleled to anything that has been seen to date. And strangely, neither of them used their main characters.

Even Street Fighter champions like Infiltration were hype about the action between JDCR and Knee.

JDCR and Knee have a well-known rivalry that has affected their friendship in the past, but this weekend the two may have put a lot of it behind them. When it was all said and done, Knee and JDCR shook hands.

Certainly not to be overlooked, Nobi, Chikurin, Take, Doujin, Yuu, Saint and everyone in the Top 16 put on great performances. The pure excellence of Tekken 7 shined through like never before, showing why it undoubtedly is one of the best fighting games ever imagined. For example, check out this clutch chicken reversal by Nobi!

You can also thank the Philippine Tekken community for the hype and “the feels.” They surrounded the event with so much love and admiration, it had to be quite difficult to leave there and no longer be on good terms. They love Tekken there.

If this is a preview to EVO this upcoming weekend, then we are indeed in store for a treat.

Below are the final results, as well as the archived footage of the Top 16, which goes all the up to grand finals.
