This episode of Tekken Talk with MarkMan took place at Wizard World Sacramento, right off the heels of #E3 where it was revealed that Tekken 7 would be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam (PC) in early 2017. Tekken developers Katsuhiro Harada and Michael Murray were in town for both events, so it only made sense that they would be the special guests for this episode. Rip, winner of Wizard World Philadelphia, was also a guest.
Using the hashtag #TekkenTalk, viewers were able to ask Harada-San and Michael questions related to Tekken 7. There were many good ones, such as ‘will there be crossplay between platforms,’ and ‘can revenge matches or set-matches be an option’ (3-out-of-5, for example).
One of the more alarming talking points was brought up by Michael Murray himself. He said an editor for IGN came up to him and said “I’m trying to learn Tekken, but your community is so negative.” This shouldn’t be so people. Why is this so, and what can be done to fix it?
